Manufacturing

Made in Antalya,
not sourced

Wood is cut, shaped and finished in our own shop; accessory bodies are milled from solid aluminium. Nothing on this site is bought in and badged, which is the whole reason a distributor can ask us to change something and get an answer.

A production line in a workshop, machines in a row under high windows
  1. Stacked timber blanks in a workshop, lit from a high window
    01

    The blank

Furniture starts as a laminated hardwood blank, not a solid board.

Lamination is why a stock takes a knock without splitting along a grain line, and why the edge of a finished piece reads as stripes rather than as timber. It is a construction decision before it is an aesthetic one — the look is a consequence of it, not the reason for it.

Blanks are cut oversize and left to settle before anything is machined. Wood that is shaped the day it arrives moves afterwards, and a handguard that has moved does not sit on a rifle.

  2. An end mill cutting an aluminium block with coolant spraying off the tool and chips curling away
    02

    Machining

Profiles are cut on the machine; accessory bodies are milled from solid.

Hand stops and grips are cut from aluminium bar rather than cast, which is slower and is the reason the chamfers are sharp and the knurling has edges on it.

Wood is profiled to the pattern and no further. Everything after this point is done by somebody holding the part.

  3. Hands working abrasive paper along the comb of a laminated hardwood stock held in a bench vice
    03

    Finishing

The comb, the grip swell and the edges are brought up by hand.

The last pass on a part somebody holds has never been something a cutter can do on its own. A machine can cut the shape; it cannot tell you when the edge under a thumb has stopped being an edge.

Then the lacquer, in the three finishes, built up rather than flooded on — which is why Russian Red reads almost black until the light moves across it.

  4. Finished parts laid out on a bench under inspection light
    04

    Matching and packing

A four-piece set is assembled from pieces chosen to agree.

Tone and grain are matched across all four before anything is boxed. A handguard a shade off the stock is a second, not a product, and the check is the reason sets leave here looking like one object rather than four parts in a bag.

Packed for export from Antalya, with the paperwork done at this end.

What this page does not say

The figures you would expect are missing on purpose

Every one of these was available to guess and every one was left out. A distributor quotes against what a supplier publishes, and a plausible number is worse than no number — it is a number somebody will hold us to.

Ask for any of it in an enquiry. Where it is settled you will get it in writing; where it is not we will say so.

  • Material grades, alloys and gauges
  • Tolerances and heat treatment
  • Run sizes, lead times and capacity
  • Inspection rates and standard numbers
  • Certifications and licences
